This picture shows the workers working on the same task inside the factory and it is related to the demography change and globalization. Demographic Transition began in areas of developing world such as Asia and Africa in the early 20th century. (pg. 20) Based on the TED talks, this picture was taken in China where the Demographic Transition is occurring. The urban economy grows to support the growing number of residents and the many services they now require as more people flocked into cities from farms. In 2006, employment in the services sector became higher than that in agriculture. China is now a big industrial market in the world and is one of the globalization factor. (pg. 31) |

This photo shows the mass production of cars that relates to the globalization and the growing oil consumption. In order to manufacture a car, parts are not always made inside the countries and may as well be imported. This makes all countries that get involved with the manufacture of car win some economic benefits. This shows the more interconnected and interdependent world. (pg. 23) The increased usage of hybrid cars also increases the oil consumption of the countries. The oil consumption is assumed to increase as the expected future population growth. |

The photo illustrates the human population born in the era of baby boom are in their later age of life. She works by burning the chips to extract the recyclable materials out from it. During this process, the burned chips emit the toxic chemicals that are harmful to human bodies. However, with the low fertility rate and death rate now, the dependency ratio becoming very low. Lesser individuals of working age are sustaining for every elderly person and so people are required to work an extended period of life time than those from previous era. (pg. 43) |
